How do I set up a password so my teenage son cannot sign on until I enter the pasword?

Why?

What, you think he isn't ready? Do you want him to be socially retarded in college?

He is going to learn what he wants to know and you can't stop him. All you can do is become the source he trusts most. Be honest and open with him. If you don't have his trust, it is time to loosen up, get off your butt and get that trust.

If you are afraid of something that is legitimately wrong or illegal, then you can by kew stroke loggers that keep a record of what he types.

Be warned, though, you will see stuff that will make you uncomfortable. How do I set up a password so my teenage son cannot sign on until I enter the pasword?
go to...

Start %26gt; control panel %26gt; User Accounts %26gt; Change Account %26gt; Computer Admistrator [the account you are currently using] %26gt; Change password

hope this helps... or alternatively, hide the main plug to the computer so he can't turn it on, lol. what my mum used to do..How do I set up a password so my teenage son cannot sign on until I enter the pasword?
always wait until he goes to bed or very early in the morning so he dont see you typing it ; or make a small filing cabinet where only YOU have the key and then when you forget your password or passwords ; you can't take your key and retrieve your password or passwords :) hope that helps alot :)
a password to what??? If you are talking about a computer you og on go onto appearance and themes and click edit user account and add a pass word xD
If you have a pc with windows hit CTRL-ALT-DELETE, then click on ';set or change password.';
depends on what the password is blocking. most things these days have parental controls. ask the service provider/ manufacturer and they should have the best solution.
Sign on to what?

Sign onto Yahoo, or your computer?

Perhaps be a little more specific.

From what I have so far, you could simply make an account on the computer that is passworded, and keep it to yourself.
You can either make him his own account, or just set a password for the whole computer

To create him an account of his own, go in to start, then control panel

Then click on user accounts and click on create a new account, then create a new account

To create a password for the whole computer, click on start, control pane, user accounts, then click on change the way user's log on or off...
just go to start button then control panel click the users account press your account then then you can set a password. or try to create a new account for your son its much more easier. hope it helps
go to start, control panel, user accounts
Go to start menu, Control panel, user accounts and there you can set up a password that has to be entered before you can access windows
Go to Start %26gt; Control Panel %26gt; User Accounts.

wdw
not sure what windows you are running but for XP you go to control panel then user account click on that then click on the first one and it will bring you too passwords,
You can certainly setup a windows login password as others have described by going into User Accounts in the Control Panel.

I would actually suggest that you create a separate account for the kid that only has limited privileges AND you can setup a BIOS password that will require a password be input before the computer ever boots into windows... this will prevent them from using any boot cd's to subvert the security.

When the computer is booting you will see something like Hit F10 = BIOS tap this key before the computer shows the windows logo on the black screen and go into the BIOS and setup a boot password. Save settings and exit (usually this is F10)

Good Luck
