Does currect welfare policy encourage teenage pregnancy, dropping out of high school and illiteracy?

Temptation of a handout with apartments and subsidies to young women perhaps troubled, unmotivated and interested in escaping parental authority or having some fantasyland ideal about parenting and male-female relationships?Does currect welfare policy encourage teenage pregnancy, dropping out of high school and illiteracy?
Yes! And for exactly the reasons you said!Does currect welfare policy encourage teenage pregnancy, dropping out of high school and illiteracy?
It is not so much that the welfare system encourages people to commit these acts, but for those that do, it becomes a never ending cycle that most give in to. Welfare will find you housing for a % of your income, give you food stamps, free medical, and a set amount of cash. This money is tax free, your housing cost is only a small fraction of this, you don't have to pay for medical, and you are also getting money on top of that for food only. So pretty much you are getting a part-time job's minimum wage salary, food, medical, and housing, for nothing. This is fine and dandy for the ';never want to amount to anything people';. The problem is that those that try to better themselves and work their way towards independence from the system, because for them it was just a temporary fix to a problem, usually end up getting pulled back in. You get a part-time job, they cut off your money, okay... but they end up cutting off your food, and your housing costs go up or they cut you off of that too. Now what was equivalent to a full-time job's salary at above minimum wage. Is a struggle to survive and nobody wants to go backwards in life so they quit their job to keep getting all of these benefits.

What needs to happen is standards to help these people gain their own independence during the time they are using the system, and if they don't accomplish these goals or show ';determined'; effort. Pull them off. Make them learn to survive one way or another.

p.s. I am not in any way bashing these people. I am one of these people trying desperately to find my way off the system, but every time I gain a step forward, they find a way to pull me back two steps if not three.
DAMN !!!!........I WISH THE EVERY SCHOOL WOULD TEACH THE SOBERING FACTS ABOUT HOW MUCH WELFARE PAYS AND THE TRUTH ABOUT APARTMENT SUBSIDIES.!!!!!!

THEY SHOULD GIVE EACH TEEN THE AMOUNT WELFARE PAYS AND TRY TO SEE IF THEY CAN LIVE ON IT !!!!

WHAT A BIG ...................JOKE !!!!!

THAT WAS TAUGHT WHEN I WAS A KID AND IT KEPT MY LEGS SHUT AND THE BOOKS OPEN !!!!!
I answered your other question about IQs and academic performance.

Teenage pregnancy is more common in girls from poor backgrounds so I'd say it's likely.
No.

I don't think anybody is tempted by welfare. Even lazy a**holes who just don't feel like workin' don't look forward to welfare.

Welfare pays them juts enough to stay alive, no more. It's no one's first choice.

However, it does provide a safety net for people who would otherwise hang on and keep trying. If the only options were study work or starve, we'd probably have a lot fewer dropouts.
