tell them that you understand that gift cards are impersonal...and to spice them up have them wrap them in a funny way. That's what I do every year.

I think it depends on the person. Some people get the occasional zit, and other people have full out acne, even when they are adults. I suggest you look at your diet for trans-fatty acids, and do your best to eliminate them gradually from your diet. Trans fats are the junk oils used in deep frying and food manufacture a LOT. Replace with HDLs which are better known as the 'good' oils like Olive, Grapeseed, Coconut, Almond, etc. Then find a good quality Zinc supplement, Vit C and take them daily.
It will slow down, but it could also go into adulthood and become adult acne. There's plenty of medication out there to take care of it. Acne really isn't that much of a problem nowadays because of all the medicine.
I actaully never had acne. If you want it to go away, you might want to treat it with some cream. But yes, it will go away. Have you ever seen 40 year olds or even 25 year olds with acne?

If this is an ethical question, I really think a teenager should tell her parents if she's planning on having an abortion. I'm a parent of 3 girls, and I would be absolutely devastated if one of them had an abortion and didn't tell me. I would want to help my daughter in any way I could.

Because teenagers have that out of sight out of mind way of thinking. They also think bad things only happen to everyone else. They live in the moment not by the future...at least most of them.


Of course there are a few that really do use protection and accidents happen
idk why you ask why it STILL exists, because it exists now more than ever. and it always will exist. everyone likes sex...unfortunately that includes teens. i think more and more teens are having sex to early because lets face it, sex is glorified in todays society...look everywhere around you...i dare you to find a movie (besides childrens movies) that dont have at least one sexual reference in it!! sex is everywhere!!
neither. its because kids like having sex and are dumb enough to think they won't get pregnant.
It's sad that, in a modern, industrialized society such as ours, that this kind of thing is still going on!





The media is increasingly glamorizing pregnancy among impressionable teenagers:





Movies like Juno are legitimatizing ';kids having kids';. Instead of abortion or adopting it away after birth, that film justifies keeping the child.





Musicians such as Jamie Lynn Spears are having children at age sixteen...and the newspapers and magazines are glorifying it!





Movie stars and entertainers are having kids right and left, willy-nilly; this behavior is covered by television and portrayed as beautiful, normal AND without consequences.





Sarah Palin, a state governor, and in the running for Vice President of the United States...her (unmarried) seventeen year-old daughter had a child with her boyfriend.





Democrats and Republicans are bickering about which type of sex-education programs are ';morally right';. The fighting needs to stop...whatever abstinence or normal sex-ed is the best way. Stop bi*ching and focus on teen pregnancy in some way.

Sometimes, it's the result of teens being ignorant...though I think that most girls understand that if you have unprotected sex, you very well might get pregnant.





Sometimes it's some kind of macho thing on the part of the guy, or a cultural issue among certain ethnic groups. Or even a religious issue, as some ultra-right-wing Christians encourage early pregnancy.





Sometimes it's girls feeling that their life is worthless if they don't become pregnant, that being a mother is their only purpose in life, or the ';highest calling a woman can have';. Or some (usually low-income) girls feel that only a child will justify their existence.

It shouldn't be some teen right-of-passage.


It shouldn't be a decision made by hormone-driven teenage girls....or guys.


The media should do the responsible thing and advocate teenage pregnancy PREVENTION, not justify it.


Schools should make aware to kids that teenage pregnancy is no way to live life, and is very irresponsible and reckless.


Parents should quit ignoring this issue, and have a serious discussion with their sons and daughters.





Girls...wait till you get a little older to make a **LIFE CHANGING** choice like this. Finish high school...get a job...go to college...live a little.


Guys...keep your d**k in your pants...and be a MAN; if you *really* love your girl, try to get her to succeed in life, not simply be a baby-making machine.

i was with this guy for 2 years and he all of a sudden started tlaking about sex like all the time and i was not ready and i always believe in waiting till mairrage. soon he was practically stripping me and pushed me down on the bed and yeah now i'm pregnant


there are some couples that want to have babies just because they think they're ready and in no way am i telling you this story to make you feel bad for the girls that do get pregnant because yes, it takes two to make a baby but there are some lovely girls who just cannot get away from a situation fast enough and sometimes it's the other way around.

It exists because teenagers who might be physically ready to have sex don't think of the actual consequences of having unprotected sex. It's the ';it won't happen to me'; syndrome. I also blame poor parenting and even a lack of sex education. Our society glorifies sex in music, video, television, commercials, clothing advertisements (i.e. abercrombie %26amp; fitch, hollister).

Most times the guy says I love you, to get the girl to have sex. So they use the emotion on her to get the physical he wants. But he isn't usually smart enough to think about protection because he's thinking about getting laid. And she has no idea when she ovulates and all of that stuff, so she gets pregnant. Nor is she smart enough to think about protection either because most times, they think they can't get pregnant the 1st time or really ever.

mostly it's kids thinking that nothing like that would happen to them so they are not careful enough. Some girls think that it will fix their relationships and sometimes it's an accident because birthcontrol is not 100% effective.
Many reasons. Poor women can go on welfare, but only if they are single mothers. There is also a stigma to sex in the US that goes back to Puritan times. Parents feel awkward about discussing sex with their children so they wind up doing a trial by error form of self education.


We need more sex ed programs in the schools. Children need to be aware of how they can control their own bodies before their own hormones over take them with curiosity. Parents must be more mindful and watchful of their children. The whole latch kid syndrome with kids left with no parental supervision is an accident waiting to happen. All that free time between 3pm and 7pm without parents or adult guardians is not good for kids.


In the future, schools will be open later into the evening when working parents can pick them up and will run throughout the summer all year long. Summer time is also a bad time for kids to get into trouble. Children need discipline and constructive activities to keep them busy. They also need to be educated as to how their reproductive organs work and how to use contraceptives and birth control. There are millions of abortions and unwanted teen pregnancies that would have been prevented with sex education and parental guidance.

My little brothers gf got pregnant on purpose at 15, because he cheated on her with a 16 year old who had his baby. She got jealous and was afraid my brother would leave her so she lied about taking birth control and got pregnant. She had his 2nd kid, and 11 months later she gave birth to his 3rd kid.





She thought it was going to be like playing house. I hate it for their babies who are having to grow up in poverty. Mom quit high school and so did dad. Mom has never had a job because she has been pregnant since 15. It is sad, and I feel so bad for those babies.

I think I could go on forever on this subject - there is much debate on this, but my opinion is most certainly YES.





I don't think it is coincidence that women have become more and more critical of themselves, their bodies, everything because of this Hollywood Ideal that is projected out toward us everywhere we turn. Showing up as depression, eating disorders, even getting boob jobs and plastic surgery, shopping addictions and skin cancer from trying to always have that golden tan no matter what time of year it is.





We are getting the impression that women are not beautiful as they are. How many women do you know, that feel totally okay not wearing make up versus how many say things like, ';I'm not going out without make up - I look like crap!';. (make up, to me, is to enhance when I want to - certainly not a requirement for me to go to work or out and about!)





Look at paintings from some of the classic artists in history, and women's bodies were much more realistic and beautiful. If aliens were to base what human women look like by looking at the magazines, tv shows, porn, etc - I'm sure they'd conclude we never weigh more than 130lbs and we are all between 5'7'; and 5'9'; and all have at least C or D cup bra sizes.





No one can convince me that the images we see all around us, even cartoon characters, doesn't create an impression on young minds. The brain is processing information we cannot even imagine - that 80% of our brain we supposedly don't use, I think is total crap - it is processing and forming associations based on the impressions it gets from the outside world.





How women should look and act is portrayed there, then little girls grow up with this impression, and it is no accident that by the time they get older, how they look and act almost mirrors what they grew up seeing.





When we are 5-10 years old, our brains are forming at rapid rates - absorbing all that we see and experience around us - and forming impressions about the world around us and where we fit in to that world.





No one can tell me that seeing Victoria's Secret model show on prime time TV, seeing the ';helpless'; female cartoon character that always needs the man to come to her rescue, or seeing commercials where it is pretty much always the woman washing dishes, or vaccuming, or washing clothes, or changing diapers, etc. doesn't create an impression and impact self-image!





Again - if aliens were to look at all this, they would form the opinion that human males are incapable of doing these tasks and human females must have some natural ability for domestic chores.





Take Porn for example. It does have a purpose, but generally speaking, I am of the opinion that making a habit out of watching it should be limited. Porn, just like regular movies, is often a distorted view of what sex is really like and how people really do it. There are edits, cuts, breaks, etc - it is ACTING. And, the porn industry is largely targeted toward men.





I think that as a society, we'd be a lot more confident sexually and ENJOY sex more, if the distorted impressions that porn makes didn't in some way lead us to try to live up to them. Porn reality is not Reality - no wonder why people go out and cheat and aren't happy in their relationships - they seem to think that sex is supposed to be like what they see in Porn and it simply isn't!





Plus, I think generally speaking Porn has led to a general lack of appreciation of a woman's body and sexuality by men. Men have become desensitized to the beautiful and wonderful thing a woman's sexuality, body, and mind really is as the result.





I equate it like this - I grew up watching horror movies from before I can even remember. In my adult years, it is now very very hard for me to find a new horror movie that will even make me flinch - it has to be spectacularly good for it to get my heart pumping.





I think Porn and the Hollywood media portrayals of women act in much the same way to contribute to the same type of de-sensitization.





I will add, that this also doesn't just affect girls, but affects guys. Guys are also pressured to live up to ideals that the media portrays about how they should look and act as well.





To top it off, if I was a guy I'd be really bothered by how men are portrayed. Most TV shows and things, portray men as completely simple-minded idiots (tim the toolman taylor, according to jim, etc) who are incapable of figuring out how a washing machine works.





Thankfully, women are more and more starting to break out of these ';roles'; portrayed to them and becoming more confident of themselves and their abilities.





I am in a career dominated by men. You'd think based on the media, that it would be impossible for me as woman to understand something technical like computers! I am one of only 2 women techs nationwide, out of over 25 on our team.





I don't think it is an accident as to why this is. Everywhere we go, women have not been encouraged to get in to these fields until recent years, which is starting to grow.





I'm glad that women are starting to break free from these impressions and roles that have been outlined for them, and paving their own path!

Yes it does in my opinion it has a huge impact on how we as females view our bodies it starts conditioning us at a early age. Monkey See Monkey do. We learn by example, at least 95% of our learning is done through sight. So what we see is what we desire to become .Like what we eat is what we become same thing . Keeping up with the Jones. Peer Pressure, young girls are always looking to older girls because they want to be them when they are grown . Of Course it affects them, that's why they do it to sell merchandise. Sex sells , Hence all the bad body images, eating disoreders, poor netueration, and the use of illegal drugs to aid them in weight loss. We are encouraging them to make wrong choices in life, and teaching them to relay on outward appearences instead of their minds. We all have different body styles, These ads are sending the wrong signal.One size does not fit all.
Yep. It really affected me when i was in my teens, i used to think I was fat when i really wasn't, because i was constantly subjected to stick-thin models. I'm 20 now, and it still affects me to an extent.
Yes! Young girls think that it is what they should look like. They don't understand that these people are proffessionals and do this for a living. As well as air brushing! I wish some of these young girls wouldn't try to compare themselves to these women. But unfortunately, some of them do.
Undoubtedly. It is not just women, however. It's people in general. A lot of people place a large amount of importance on image, since (many) people are pack animals constantly trying to ';fit in.'; How do you judge normal? Look at what other people are doing, buying, and asking for. Hence the words trend and trendy. Representations of women in advertising also impacts teenage boys at that delicate time in their life when they are looking for social cues to learn what they should like about the opposite sex (and if) and why they have a curiosity about women.

Get a couple more boys, and just get lots of food, a big table everyone can sit at, with a few chairs away from it, little groups can go off.


Have a few movies, and lots of music.

I always find teenage parties are the most fun when you have no idea what you will do and no planned activities. I would say just wing it but have some good movies around and food just in case.

If they're younger teens they might like Hanna Montana. Older girls might like something more traditional and grown up. You might consider finding out what they like and perhaps create pictures or collages of their favorite things.


If you're updating furniture, think about purchasing things they can take with them when they go to college or their first apartments. Such as, larger beds, cedar chests, sturdy pieces of furniture that look eclectic in their rooms for now, but they can use when they get older and on their own.


My son moved out for first time last summer and I did my best to collect items for him over the years and as he got older. i did one teen girl's room in a pale blue and white and my wife and i painted a mural of the sun and crescent moon and some stars, with clouds and a few birds on one wall

I don't know if it's really ';love'; at that point because most children that young will ';love'; everyone because if raised right most children are loving creatures.





But I believe in young love (ages 13-16) lasting becasue my cousins were 3 when they met, 15 when they fell in love, 25 when they got married and now they are going on 26 and have a beautiful 10month old girl.





My little cousin who just turned 6 has a girlfriend but he's only 6 we can't count on it lasting...but I'm not saying it won't.

The Mazda MX5, if you can afford it is a great little car that is fun and gets great gas mileage. If you want a sedan then go for the Mazda 3 or a Honda Civic. These cars are safe and extremely reliable. For a first time car buyer, I would recommend getting a certified used car instead of a new one. Certified used like my Honda Civic, comes with warranty and cost me thousands of dollars less than new. It is a safe car that is also great on gas and dependability. That is what it all comes down to, DEPENDABILITY. For a teenager who doesn't know much about caring for his/her first car, a dependable car is very, very important. You want the car to be there when you need it and not have to pay for breakdowns all the time. So get a certified Civic and you will have many great days of driving pleasure. Why is it suddenly ';cool'; to be a teenage mother?

Nina I know what you're saying. A bunch of people ripped my head off for pointing out that it's become fashionable for teenagers to keep their babies. But it has.





People say good for you for not having an abortion. Good for you for accepting responsibility for your actions. Meanwhile, I'd say at least 7 out of 10 kids born to teenage girls would be better off given up for adoption. There are many, many wonderful people who cannot have children and would love to help a young girl make a better life for her baby. I really don't feel that it is always ';good'; to accept responsibility for your actions. This is one where maybe some girls should just be kids for a few more years and never-mind trying to be moms.





And before you all freak out, I was a teenage mother, so I feel I can speak about this because I have been there. Pregnancy is contagious when it breaks out in high schools. I got pregnant and within 5 months 4 other girls were also pregnant. 3 of them lost their kids to children's aid. Think about that 5 teenagers have babies. 3 taken by child services.......I kept my son an he's grown into a wonderful young man. Those other babies weren't so lucky.Why is it suddenly ';cool'; to be a teenage mother?
Because so many parents seem to either not mind, or feel they need to be the kiddo's parents and let the mother ';just be a kid while she can'; (i.e., not make the new parents take responsibility and deal with the unpleasant sides of pregnancy and parenting).





A lot of girls seem to think that it'll either make them look more mature in a good way (ha), or that it'll automatically give them ';something that always will love me and be my friend'; (ha again, can't wait till the kiddo is a teen too and screaming back at her -- wait, even earlier, the first night of colic or teething). Or that it'll make a tie with the father, and he'll always have to come back to her (ha yet again).





Mostly though I think they just don't believe they'll get pregnant. Teens do this a lot: most simply don't have the experience that teaches that Things Go Wrong If You Don't Be Careful -- most teens never believe that bad things will happen to them, unless they already have.Why is it suddenly ';cool'; to be a teenage mother?
Nobody said it was cool because it is not. But, I do not treat teenage mothers like they are some sort of abomination. Everyone has feelings. Teenage mothers are more common these days. They need all the help they get. Everyone makes mistakes but, they should not be treated like scum because of it. I am not saying a baby is a mistake either. I do not think any child is a mistake at all.





I edited to also say, i do not care if anyone gives me a bad rating on my answer because I do know a few teenage mothers and most of them work and take care of their children. Not all teenagers are ';stupid'; and living off the government.
Well with shows like ';The Secret Life of an American Teenager'; and ';Reba'; (Cheyenne getting pregnant in high school), it's no wonder it's now becoming more and more ';popular'; I guess you could say. That, and a lot of teens just say ';oh the government will pay for my baby if I get pregnant';. New flash for them: That's not what welfare is for!!!





TV shows over glorify teen sex and when a teen on a TV show turns up pregnant, you see how it all ';works out'; on the show. But that's not real life. Also most teens I have met who have become pregnant were given birth control or condoms by their own parents to be ';safe';. I have news for them... apparently it's not safe! The only true safe sex is no sex at all.





I don't view teen pregnancy as ';cool'; at all. I view it as a immature decision made by an immature child. Teens have no business having sex. That is a strictly adult activity and you are not legally an adult until you are 18 or older. I'd prefer they save their body for marriage, but I know that won't happen in this day and age. But everytime I see a pregnant teenager I think ';there goes another child who pretty much screwed up their life for a few minutes of fun';. I don't give them much credit for intelligence. Sorry to offend anyone who was pregnant as a teenager, but that's the way I feel about it.
I don't think it's just suddenly cool. It happens all the time and has been happening for quite a while. My grandmother said girls used to get married when they were 15%26amp;16 all the time and she was actually an older girl to get married since she waited until she was 21. They all got married and started making babies. Now culture has just changed. If you are 16 and married now then there must be something wrong with you and your family.

it is hard to give you specific ideas without knowing where you are....but here are a few generic ones!





Go to a local park and have a picnic. You can bring equipment such as a kickball to organize some games. (Kites are fun, too!)





A local pool- the parks in my area often have splash parks- usually less than $5 to get in.





I don't suppose there is a beach nearby?? Or maybe a lake with a swimming area.





THE MOVIES- check with local theaters. Most of the national chains will have summer movies clubs. They play kids movies at least once per week in the morning-often for FREE. Some of the movies may not be something a teenager would watch, but sometimes they are geared towards older kids! If not, just going to a regular movie could be cool. Ask the theater for a group rate to save money.





The airport? Perhaps the local airport could arrange some sort of a tour.





Not sure what type of boys we are talking about, but a trip to a local courthouse and/or jail might be beneficial. I used to teach a high school law studies class and we would take the kids to visit the jail. I am sure we scared a few of them straight!

hypothetical or not to lose weight you should at least eat breakfast lunch, dinner so that you have calories to burn and H2O, then you should limit your intake,also give up all sweet drinks like sodas, punch,etc.....and junk food. Find yourself a workout because as you lose the weight you want to tone it or it will be flabby....before you stare to death you will suffer alot.
Dont matter how cubby u are it would be that same for every one as a certain amount of fat is used in the archeries of the heart and with out it can lead to heart attack so before u staved to death ud proberly have a heart attack

A person who is in shape would last longer because they have more strength. So, an overweight person would starve sooner because of lack of strength, and the mindset.
She will starve to death 24 hours after her last meal. Don't do anything crazy.

it is hard to give you specific ideas without knowing where you are....but here are a few generic ones!





Go to a local park and have a picnic. You can bring equipment such as a kickball to organize some games. (Kites are fun, too!)





A local pool- the parks in my area often have splash parks- usually less than $5 to get in.





I don't suppose there is a beach nearby?? Or maybe a lake with a swimming area.





THE MOVIES- check with local theaters. Most of the national chains will have summer movies clubs. They play kids movies at least once per week in the morning-often for FREE. Some of the movies may not be something a teenager would watch, but sometimes they are geared towards older kids! If not, just going to a regular movie could be cool. Ask the theater for a group rate to save money.





The airport? Perhaps the local airport could arrange some sort of a tour.





Not sure what type of boys we are talking about, but a trip to a local courthouse and/or jail might be beneficial. I used to teach a high school law studies class and we would take the kids to visit the jail. I am sure we scared a few of them straight!
