What are the best cars for first time teenage drivers/buyers?

The Mazda MX5, if you can afford it is a great little car that is fun and gets great gas mileage. If you want a sedan then go for the Mazda 3 or a Honda Civic. These cars are safe and extremely reliable. For a first time car buyer, I would recommend getting a certified used car instead of a new one. Certified used like my Honda Civic, comes with warranty and cost me thousands of dollars less than new. It is a safe car that is also great on gas and dependability. That is what it all comes down to, DEPENDABILITY. For a teenager who doesn't know much about caring for his/her first car, a dependable car is very, very important. You want the car to be there when you need it and not have to pay for breakdowns all the time. So get a certified Civic and you will have many great days of driving pleasure. But if you can afford it, then go for a new one. I hope this helped and good luck with your first car purchase.

I HAVE NOTICED THE ANSWERER SAYING THAT THE MAZDA MX5 ';CAUSED HER TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT';. That would be like saying ';we should put the gun in jail for shooting people.'; IF SOMEONE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE, THEY WILL HAVE AN ACCIDENT NO MATTER WHAT THEY DRIVE. IF YOU WANT TO KNOW HOW RELIABLE IS THE MAZDA MX5, THEN CHECK OUT THE CONSUMER REPORTS MAGAZINES SITE AND CHECK THEIR AUTO RELIABILITY REPORTS. THE MAZDA MX5 HAS ALWAYS BEEN ON THE TOP OF THE LIST OF RELIABLE SPORTS CARS. We should never say things if we don't have something to back them up with. What are the best cars for first time teenage drivers/buyers?
A 10 year old Civic or Accord with under 100k miles. Please don't get a Mazda MX-5, it was the worst used car I ever bought and caused me the only accident I ever had. They are scary cars, too, as my dad says, they are rolling coffins! Stick with Honda. What are the best cars for first time teenage drivers/buyers?
Something safe and reliable ... maybe a 2 to 4 year old Honda Civic.
