It's because of our culture and the way we're bought up. If you look at the table on the right, East Asian countries (China, Japan, and South Korea) overall have the LOWEST teen birth rates. East Asians KNOW that it's wrong to become pregnant during teen years. Our culture teaches us to focus on education and respect rather than taking stupid risks, like having unprotected sex with numerous people.





If an Asian girl becomes a teenage mom, she's considered an embarrassment. She will eventually be looked down upon by all her relatives. That's why most Asian girls know NOT to have sex until they're mature enough. Reputation is extremely important in our culture. We can't bring 'shame' to our family.How come Countries like Japan and South Korea have such low Teenage pregnancy rate?
they are taught to have sex after marriage. many kids in these countries are not allowed to have boyfriends. they have arranged marriages. us is the richest country.
Countries such as Japan and South Korea have low birth rates to begin with...so since teen pregnancy rates are usually much lower than birth rates, low birth rates usually mean even lower teen pregnancy rates.
too much freedom combined with a lot of opportunistic guys and attention seeking girls maybe?
