Steps to becoming a teen model:
1. Lose 40 lbs. (doesn't matter how thin you are now)
2. Lose all your self respect.
3. Enjoy people telling you are too fat, your hair looks like crap, you walk bad, your look is wrong, you are wrng, etc.
4. Stand in line with 200,000 other girls.How can I be a Teenage Model?

You need at least a clear headshot and a full body shot in fitted clothes or a bikini
A legitimate agency doesn't cost anything upfront. Anyone trying to make you pay for registration, website listings, classes, showcases, etc is a scam. An agency should only make money after they book you on a job and take their commission
AFTER you have signed a contract with an agency, you will normally have to pay for comp cards and possibly a few test shoots for your portfolio. This can cost anywhere from $200-1000 depending on which photographer(s) you use, how many shoots you have, how many comp cards you print. You should be free to pick the photographer of your choice - if you are being forced to use one specific photographer/studio or an in-house photographer, you are being scammed. While some agencies do have deals with certain photographers where you get a discount, you should never be forced to use that photographer. Always call around to compare pricing and make sure the agency will let you use the photographer of your choice
Advantages - money, fame and travel if you are successful, getting to wear nice clothes, having your hair and makeup done by the top artists in the world
Disadvantages - missing school, not being able to spend as much time with friends and family, going to an average of 40 go-sees for every 1 job you get booked on, having people constantly critiquing your look and your weight, not being able to eat whatever you want anymore
I'm not sure about the first two questions but
Plus side:
* if you're good you can get a lot of money
* fun sort of job
*who wouldn't want to be a model, lol
Negatives:
* Bad body image
* People would always want you to loose weight
* Lots of scams out there
* Very possible you wouldn't make it that far as it's a popular career for people to try and not many make it
You might want to enter any model searches and such that you see in magazines.
