Can someone help me out with a really good teenage book?

Okay im trying to get back in reading more and i dont know if there is a genre for the type of books i like but... I like books that are based on the past looking into the future or books based on the future looking back into the past. A recent book i read was a book called The Last Book in the Universe. Which sorta looks back at what we have now that may be extinct in the future which is what im looking for in a book. Any suggestions please post. ThanksCan someone help me out with a really good teenage book?
Holly Black is a great teenage author. Here are two of her books:

Ironside: A Modern Faery's Tale

Valiant: A Modern Tale of Faerie

Also Jodi Lynn Anderson is great. Here are 3 titles from her:

Peaches

The Secret of Peaches

Love and Peaches

You also might like James Patersons Maximum Ride series or Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson series.

If you choose any of these authors, you won't be disappointed. Good luck finding something!

Tuesdays With Morrie - Mitch Albom

The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold

The Twilight Series - Stephanie Meyer

Memoirs Of A Geisha - Arthur Golden

. . .

that's about all i can think of right now but a really good site to go to to find a bunch of books that are recommended for teens is:

well, its more of a fantasy series but it is wonderful, read ';sabriel'; i forgot the author, it might be garth nix, but it is awesome, or if looking to the future, read ';enders game'; and ';enders shadow'; its a pretty interesting series. hope you enjoy
The Lightning Thief stories seems very popular with teenagers, but especially with boys.
Secret Life of Bees By, Sue Monk Kidd.
